Sherbrooke, Albany Trade Made Sunday, December 28th , 2014 You can focus on the negatives after being traded to a new team -- finding a new place to stay, leaving teammates and friends, having to start anew -- but one player hopes to focus on the positives. "It means I'm wanted somewhere. At least one team sees potential in me." Those were the comments heard after the Sherbrooke Canadians came to an agreement to deal 33-year old minor league LF Rob Corkle and $1,520 in cash to the Albany Senators for 32-year old RHP Pedro Hernandez earlier today. The deal is expected to be formally announced later this evening. Sherbrooke will retain a portion of Corkle's remaining contract. Corkle has a lifetime .244 average and .375 on-base percentage in his career with 318 hits, 50 doubles, 3 triples, 58 home runs, 178 RBIs and 182 runs scored. In his career, Hernandez has fashioned a 49-41 mark, 3.54 ERA and thrown 834.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .222 lifetime against him and he has logged 960 career strikeouts. |
