Beech Crafts 4-0 Shutout Versus Boston Sunday, September 28th , 2014 Brandon Beech of the Philadelphia Keystones was on top of his game. The 22-year-old tantalized the Boston Shamrocks with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 4-0. "He had the changeup working," Boston manager Matt Mays said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Philadelphia hurler had 9 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 8 hits in his complete-game effort. Beech told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league." "If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.
