Shamrocks Listless in 7-0 Loss to Thunder Tuesday, September 2nd , 2014 Kevin Schuerger of the Tampa Bay Thunder was on top of his game. The 30-year-old tantalized the Boston Shamrocks with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 7-0. "He had the changeup working," Boston manager Matt Mays said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Tampa Bay hurler had 13 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 6 hits in his complete-game effort. Schuerger told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league." "If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said. So far this year, Schuerger has made 14 starts, tossed 104.1 innings, struck out 117 batters and walked 19.
