Rice, Motors March to 6-1 Victory
The St. Louis Lions opened their 2014 season with a disappointing 6-1 loss to the Detroit Motors at The Lions Hearth. Shortstop Scott Rice was a big part of the win for Detroit. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Rice had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 cutter from Christophe Georges, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Motors a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Rice.

Rice attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
