The St. Louis Lions got a great start from 35-year-old right-hander Kevin Williams, as St. Louis won the contest, 4-2, at The Lions Hearth. Williams threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which allowed the St. Louis to grab a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Andy Kifer, who finished 4th in the in OPS with .991 in 2006, took El Paso hurler Earl Dunbar deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 3-run home run put the Lions on top, 4-1. In all, Kifer had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"It was just a matter of executing," said St. Louis manager Leo Cruz.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lions Hearth in St. Louis.
