Behind a bravura effort from starter Paul Easterling, the St. Louis Lions topped the El Paso Diablos by the score of 3-1 and got their first win in the 2014 Pro Circuit Cup. Easterling threw 7.2 innings allowing 1 run for the Lions. The win moves St. Louis into a 1-1 tie with El Paso.

St. Louis used the timely hitting of Andy Kifer to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lions on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Every loss stings," said El Paso manager Joe Peters. "This one is no exception."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 20th , 2014 at The Lions Hearth in St. Louis.
