Mooris, Diablos Take Dramatic Game 2 for 2-0 Series Lead
The El Paso Diablos got a strong game from starter Kevin Mooris, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Diablos took the 4-3 win over the Las Vegas Aces in Game 2 of the Cup Qualifier in a 11th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Mooris. Mooris threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs in the win, which gave the Diablos a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The decisive blow was delivered by Mat Mulcahy in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Roberto Negrete to win the game for El Paso. The home crowd went nuts.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Las Vegas manager Julian Riegel. "But we decided not to take it."

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Caesers Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas.
