Pro Circuit Cup Game 1 Victory for Steele and El Paso
The El Paso Diablos started the Pro Circuit Cup in dominant fashion, blowing out the visiting St. Louis Lions at Inferno Field by a score of 10-2 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Diablos left-hander Jesse Steele turned in a fine performance. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball.

In the bottom of the third, El Paso left fielder Kevin Brown had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Brown stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 3-0, El Paso. For the game, he was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs.

El Paso manager Joe Peters commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Inferno Field in El Paso.
