Lions Take Tight Tilt, 3-2
Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at The Lions Hearth.

The St. Louis Lions scooted past the Dallas Texans, 3-2, at The Lions Hearth. St. Louis pitcher Paul Easterling, in particular, performed like a star. Easterling yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 10-6. Zeke Smothers, credited with the save, is now 6 for 9 in save opportunities.

Jeff Beyer had a big 2-run home run for the Lions in the bottom of the sixth inning. With St. Louis leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from David Stewart and swatted a home run to right. It was his 12th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lions ahead, 3-0.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Beyer.

St. Louis raised its record to 48-33 with the win.
