The Tampa Bay Thunder topped the Dallas Texans, 6-4, in Professional Baseball Circuit action at The Thunder Bowl. The game was highlighted by the performance of Tampa Bay pitcher Kevin Schuerger. The winner was Schuerger. He threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was David Stewart. Dave Miller closed it out for his 3rd save.
Had Frank Robinson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Robinson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Thunder.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Schuerger.
The win for the Thunder lifted their record to 31-26.
