Though he had a stellar game, Dillon Anthony could not prevent his team, the Los Angeles Knights, from losing, 7-3, to the Atlanta Pilots. Anthony was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Butch Cagle earned the win to go to 3-2. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. The save went to Chris Wright, number 1 for him.
It could have been a different outcome for Atlanta, had it not been for Willie Ramirez, the 23-year old left fielder . Ramirez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Atlanta up, 2-0.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Ramirez. "And vice-versa."
The Pilots saw their win-loss record go to 17-18. At the same time, the Knights fell to 15-20.
