Denver first baseman Jim Blanchard contributed significantly to his team's 8-6 win over the Los Angeles Knights. Blanchard, who is tied for 8th in the PBC in home runs with 7, went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cutthroats. Francisco Chavez got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits and 6 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Rafael Martinez earned the save for Denver, his 5th.

With Denver leading 5-4 in the bottom of the second, Blanchard hit a fastball from Tyler Anderson for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Cutthroats ahead, 7-4.

"We're trying to go out there and win games," Blanchard told the Denver Today, "and we played pretty well tonight."

The Cutthroats improved their record to 13-14 with the win over Los Angeles.
