Powered by Nate Essman, the Las Vegas Aces downed the Toronto Titans, 8-5. Essman went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Aces. Wamego, Kansas-born Alan Tompkins came through in the clutch. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Aces trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to right-center to put Las Vegas on top.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Tompkins told the Las Vegas Daily. "It's as simple as that."
