Angel Mendoza Sidelined for Season Tuesday, September 24th , 2013 Angel Mendoza of the Blackhawks just might have to call it quits for the season. The 18-year-old Chicago (R) starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Boston (R) Shamrocks recently at PBC Rookie Development Complex. Mendoza suffered a damaged elbow ligament while throwing a pitch. The Blackhawks medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 13-14 months. For the year, Mendoza has compiled a 4-5 record with a 2.75 ERA. |
