Blues End Morales Streak Thursday, September 19th , 2013 Aubrey Morales, second baseman for the St. Louis (R) Lions, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the New York City (R) Blues. Not only did the Blues break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat St. Louis (R) by the score of 6-3. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Morales said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." In 62 games this season, Morales is batting .308 with 70 hits and 12 home runs. He has scored 49 runs and driven in 36. |
