Texans Pitching Ravaged by Alba Monday, August 26th , 2013 It was a sensational day at the plate for Leon Alba as he led the charge to a nifty 11-10 win over the Texans. The Denver (R) left fielder was pure misery for the Dallas (R) pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Alba put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Amir Fletcher, manager for the Texans, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Leon Alba doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Brian Fistler in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Josh Van Leuven in the 8th. So far this season, Alba is batting .280 with 2 home runs, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 23 hits in 82 at-bats, 10 walks and a .372 OBP. Alba has played in 25 games. View Boxscore |
