Spencer Batters St. Louis (R) Big Time Thursday, July 4th , 2013 5 times is the charm -- at least for Nick Spencer. The El Paso (R) Diablos left fielder tore up the St. Louis (R) Lions to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at PBC Rookie Development Complex. The offensive onslaught from Spencer powered the 7-6 Diablos win. "Spencer was a tough out," St. Louis (R) manager Gabe Ames said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Nick Spencer singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
