3 Bombs for Brendan Brown Thursday, June 20th , 2013 Brendan Brown of the Motors went on a hitting spree at PBC Rookie Development Complex and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a loss, 8-5, to the Tampa Bay (R) Thunder. "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Brown said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." The Detroit (R) second baseman did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. Brendan Brown hit a solo-shot off Harry Martinez in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Harry Martinez in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Antonio Lucero in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and walked in the 9th. This season, Brown has hit at a .458 clip with 8 RBIs, 4 home runs and 7 runs scored. He has played in 8 games. |
