ABC Announces Outstanding Player Award Wednesday, October 23rd , 2013 Ron Garcia of the Boston Battalion had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2013. The 24-year-old first baseman put up a .369 average and a .477 on-base percentage, piling up 121 hits, 31 doubles, 2 triples, 9 home runs, 38 RBIs and 70 runs scored. He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 18. Dave Oppelt of the Fort Wayne Farmers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Dave Kowal of the St. Petersburg Pelicans finished third with 1 first place vote.
