Annunziato Grabs ABC Reliever of the Year Award Saturday, October 19th , 2013
The Albuquerque Coyotes will no doubt have to pony up some big cash if they want to keep star reliever Matt Annunziato.
That's because the 35-year-old today was named the Amateur Baseball Circuit Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2013.
As it stands now, he's heading for free agency unless his team can put forward an extension offer. As of yet, there's been no word about an impending deal.
Annunziato captured the award with a 1.62 ERA this season over 44.1 innings of work. He made 32 relief appearances and had 7 saves, 65 strikeouts, 15 walks and a record of 3 and 3. Opposing hitters managed only a .184 against him.
