Season Possibly Over for Jeff Nesbitt Sunday, September 29th , 2013 Playoff hopes of Battalion player Jeff Nesbitt have been dealt a blow today after tests revealed the starting pitcher suffered bone chips in his elbow throwing a pitch in today's game against Long Beach Titans. Nesbitt is expected to miss up to 6-7 months, effectively ruling him out of the playoffs. This year, Nesbitt has a 4-1 mark in 8 starts with a 2.54 ERA. He has given up 38 hits in 49.2 innings, struck out 58 and issued 18 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .212 batting average against him. |
