Nagarjuna Belts 3 HR for Battalion Friday, August 9th , 2013 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Battalion-Atlantics game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Boston second baseman Ajavindu Nagarjuna thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Boston to a win, 11-1, over Brooklyn. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Nagarjuna said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Nagarjuna, who is tied for 8th in the in RBI with 29, was 5-for-5 on the day with 5 RBI. Ajavindu Nagarjuna doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Alemana Kulan in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Alemana Kulan in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Roldão Quintanilha in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. For the year, Nagarjuna is batting .284 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 22 runs scored. |
