Best Rookie Trophy Presented to Jackson Saturday, November 2nd , 2013 Last spring Craig Jackson was happy to just make the Eagles roster. He was overjoyed to see the name "Jackson" on the lineup card, too. Now the 25-year-old Newark center fielder has capped off his debut season by winning the coveted Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Rookie of the Year Award. Jackson won the award by hitting .265 and collecting 91 hits, 12 home runs, 43 RBIs and 30 walks, along with 47 runs scored and a .325 on-base percentage. He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 18. Tommy John of the Sherbrooke Canadians finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while David Muse of the Vacaville Steelheads finished third.
