Zimmer Sensational, 5-for-5 Sunday, September 29th , 2013 Fans at Braves Ballpark got to see not only a home-team victory, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season. The Green Bay Braves outplayed the Saskatoon Moose en route to a 5-3 win, but the standout was first baseman Abel Zimmer. Zimmer netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line. "Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Moose manager Justin Fisher said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too." Abel Zimmer hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Tony Estrada in the 8th. Zimmer on the season is batting .283 with 15 home runs. His totals include 39 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has played in 84 games. View Boxscore |
