Canadians, Frost Blank Buffaloes Saturday, September 14th , 2013 John Frost of the Sherbrooke Canadians was on top of his game. The 35-year-old tantalized the Winnipeg Buffaloes with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 5-0. "He had the changeup working," Winnipeg manager Jonathan Gandara said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Sherbrooke hurler had 7 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 6 hits in his complete-game effort. Frost told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league." "If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said. To date, Frost has a 6-9 mark in 19 starts with a 3.22 ERA. He has given up 129 hits in 142.1 innings, struck out 113 and issued 42 walks.
