Buffaloes Ross Strikes out 16
Saturday, August 17th , 2013
Everything was working for Bill Ross at Senators Field. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The curveball was working.
In an unforgettable performance, the 40-year-old Ross fanned 16 Senators and sparked the 3-1 Winnipeg Buffaloes victory over Albany. He left Senators hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Winnipeg manager Jonathan Gandara. "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 16 strikeouts over 7 innings, Ross allowed 4 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Ross said with a smile.
Checking out his stats for the season, Ross has registered 1 win and 4 losses in 5 starts, posted a 4.09 ERA, and struck out 43 batters in 33 innings.
