Simon Ciolino Calls it a Career
Wednesday, October 16th , 2013
Flanked by his two young children, Simon Ciolino said his reason for retirement is simple.
"I want to spend more time being a father now," the New York City Blues reliever said in announcing that this season would be his last in pro baseball. "I'm 39 years old now, I think it's a good time to go."
To date Ciolino has posted a career 20-28 record with 8 saves. The 39-year-old has rung up 446 strikeouts, has a 4.28 ERA and has allowed teams to hit .244 against him.
