Shamrocks Improve to 7-3 with 5-3 Win
|
Edwin Quevedo, who signed a 2-year contract worth $1,460,000 on 12/12/2012, was locked in. The left-hander led the Boston Shamrocks to a 5-3 win against the Toronto Titans at Titans Fields. Quevedo, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The Shamrocks raised their record to 7-3.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Mike Woolridge, the slick-fielding center fielder . Woolridge contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Boston up, 4-2.
"Edwin was throwing strikes, locating well," said Boston manager Matt Mays.
