Queen Swats 2 Homers, Blues Top Texans, 9-1
|
The New York City Blues downed the Dallas Texans, 9-1, the largest share of the credit belonging to designated hitter James Queen. On the day, Queen was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Blues. New York City pitcher Steve Estrada got the win, upping his record to 7-4. Joe Levensailor got the loss. The Blues, at 23-30, inhabit 4th place in the North Division.
With New York City leading 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Queen came up to bat against Dallas pitcher Eric Streeper. Queen hit a curveball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Blues on top, 9-0.
"I felt good up there," said Queen. "I saw the ball well."
