Cutthroats Collect 3-1 Win Versus Chicago
|
Starting Pitcher Jim Jordan was lights out, as the Denver Cutthroats beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-1. Jordan, now 6-4, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Phil Van Haren, who finished 5th in the in ERA with 2.89 in 2007, nailed down the save.
Denver used the hitting of Dewey Duggan to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cutthroats on top, 3-0. For the game, Duggan had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"No one likes losing," said Chicago manager Ron Chiu. "We've hit a tough patch, but we're going to get through it."
Chicago's current losing streak has reached 9 games.
