The Tampa Bay Thunder topped the Toronto Titans, 6-5, at Titans Fields. Tampa Bay center fielder Darnell Phillips was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Earl Dunbar earned the win. John Maguire, who finished 4th in the PBC in wins with 10 in 2006, took the loss for Toronto. Earning the save was Akihisa Shibuya. He's now cashed in 5 of 8 save opportunities.
The Thunder got a big at-bat from catcher Matt Brown. For the game, Brown went 2-5 with 2 doubles. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave Tampa Bay a 2-1 lead.
"It felt good to put the barrel on the ball," said Phillips.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Tampa Bay.
