The New York City Blues topped the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-2, in Professional Baseball Circuit action at Blues Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York City second baseman Paul Silver. Xavier Rodriguez, now 6-10, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The Blues, at 29-41, inhabit 4th place in the North Division.
Silver had a timely hit for New York City in the bottom of the eighth. With New York City trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-1 changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season, making it 3-2, New York City.
