Southern California designated hitter Angel Arzola contributed significantly to his team's 8-3 win over the Calgary Caracals. Arzola, who finished 2nd in the SPBC in on-base percentage with .426 in 2007, went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Empires. Marco Lasso came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1.
