Empires Score Late to Upend Caracals, 4-3
|
Luis Galdamez, who is tied for 9th in the SPBC in quality starts with 6, had a strong outing for the Southern California Empires against the Calgary Caracals at Caracals Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. In 8 innings, Galdamez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. The Empires saw their win-loss record go to 16-14. At the same time, the Caracals fell to 11-19.
Jerry Harris came through with a big-time hit for Southern California. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
