Drillers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Caracals
The Calgary Caracals got a whale of a performance from pitcher Gary Burget, but the Edmonton Drillers still prevailed, 3-2, in 10 innings. Burget threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Jamie Stewart, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Edmonton is now 13-14. Calgary is 9-18.

Dan Nowlin came through with a big-time hit for Edmonton. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

After the game, Edmonton manager Josh Rego applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
