Vancouver and Southern California duked it out and the Bruins came out victorious.
Southern California got a valiant performance from pitcher Nathan Billingsley, but it wasn't enough to beat the Vancouver Bruins. Vancouver won the game, 4-2. Billingsley threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Sean Lee picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-1 on the season. He struck out 1 and walked 4 in 8 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The save went to Ethan Hickson, number 3 for him.
Lee Williams came through with a big-time hit for Vancouver. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Williams told the Vancouver Chronicle. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
With the win, Vancouver raised its record to 15-10.
