Steven van Laarhoven, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Moose organization, was locked in. The right-hander led the Saskatoon Moose to a 4-3 win against the Southern California Empires at Moose Grounds. The Moose now have a record of 7-14.

The decisive blow was delivered by Kenny Sullivan in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off 33-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Hemmelgarn to win the game for Saskatoon. The home crowd went nuts.

"The fans went nuts at the end," van Laarhoven said.
