Bruins Capture Close Win
Vancouver starter Steve Post pitched well against the Vacaville Steelheads at Bruins Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4, in 10 innings. Steve Daniels, who finished 2nd in the SPBC in wins with 11 in 2008, was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Rico Abreu. The win leaves Vancouver with a record of 9-6.

The Bruins got a clutch hit from shortstop Roberto Aucapina. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bruins.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Vancouver manager Philip Schreiber.
