Santagata Pops Two Homers in 8-2 Win for Newark
Spirited fans greeted the Calgary Caracals for their clash with the Newark Eagles.

Joe Santagata was instrumental in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Calgary Caracals. The second baseman belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Newark Eagles. Steve Arthur finished the game for Newark and earned his 3rd save.

Tyler Thomas had a big 3-run home run for the Eagles in the top of the ninth inning. With Newark leading 5-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a curveball from Jorge Araujo and swatted a home run to center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Eagles ahead, 8-2.

Said losing manager Jason Benn: "I think Susan Sarandon said it, 'Hit it where they ain't.' We didn't do a very good job of that tonight."

Newark has a mark of 4-4 after the win.
