The Sherbrooke Canadians topped the Saskatoon Moose, 2-0, in Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit action at Moose Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Sherbrooke pitcher and Lakewood, California, native Tommy John. In 6.1 innings, John surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Picking up the save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Ferdin.

The Canadians got a big at-bat from shortstop Luis Martinez. For the game, Martinez went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Sherbrooke a 2-0 lead.

"I like our mental toughness," said Sherbrooke manager Rodrigo Nino.

The win puts Sherbrooke at 5-1.
