Diablos Drop Blues, 2-1, with Late Score

Crowds lined up early in front of Blues Field, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2013 Professional Baseball Circuit season. On the mound was Jesse Steele for the visiting El Paso Diablos and Steve Estrada for the hometown New York City Blues. In a spirited contest, the Diablos pulled out the win, defeating the Blues by the score of 2-1. Especially impressive was Steve Estrada. Picking up the save was 33-year old right-handed pitcher Manny Ramirez.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Kevin Brown? The fan favorite Brown stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put El Paso up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I was hoping to make good contact," said Brown. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
