Koch Shines in 7-2 Denver Win
|
Cutthroats designated hitter Jared Koch put his stamp on his team's 7-2 win over the San Francisco Peanuts. Koch went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for Denver in the contest. Denver starter Earl Dunbar was credited with the win after throwing 130 pitches over 8.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-4. The 5th-place Cutthroats are now 14-17, the Peanuts 12-19.
Koch contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Denver in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Koch took a changeup from Francisco Chavez and stroked the home run to center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Cutthroats to leap in front, 4-2.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Koch.
