Texans Beaten By Warriors, 5-3
|
The Washington Warriors defeated the Dallas Texans, 5-3. Second Baseman Bob Luallen deserved a large share of the credit. Luallen went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Warriors. The winning pitcher was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Hee-ho Kim. He tossed 134 pitches over 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Washington has an impressive 25-3 record.
With Washington leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Luallen hit a sinker from Billy Zehnder for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Warriors ahead, 3-0.
"It was a solid team effort," Luallen said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
