|
El Paso Diablos starter Nick Hinshaw was on his game, helping his team beat the Houston Mavericks, 2-1. The win was credited to 2012 Rookie of the Year Award winner Won-keun Baek in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Jonathan King took the loss. Brad Kuhlman earned the save for El Paso, his 2nd.
Kevin Brown, who is tied for 9th in the PBC in total bases with 60, had a direct impact on the outcome. Brown contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put El Paso up, 2-1.
"Nick gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said El Paso skipper Joe Peters.
