Denver turned a good effort from starter Jon Lund into a win over the Tampa Bay Thunder at Cutter's Cove. The Cutthroats won the game, 2-1. Lund, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Mike Green earned save number 6.

Had Jim Boutin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Boutin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Cutthroats.

"We busted our tails," said Tampa Bay manager Nigel Laverick. "But we came up short."

The win puts Denver at 9-8.
