Knights Reel-In 9-3 Win Over Mavericks
|
The Los Angeles Knights welcomed the Houston Mavericks to an night game at Mavericks Ballpark.
The bat of Drew Puentes helped the Los Angeles Knights top the Houston Mavericks, 9-3. Puentes was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Los Angeles. Andrew Schumacher earned the win, while 29-year old right-handed pitcher Ismael Villafan took the loss for Houston.
Danny Holt had a big solo home run for the Knights in the top of the second inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from Ismael Villafan and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 3-1.
"I thought we competed really well," said Knights manager Jason Tudor. "I thought the energy was really good."
With the win, Los Angeles goes to 6-6.
