PBC Rookie Complex League Names #1 Player
Tuesday, October 30th , 2012
At the age of 22, Jorge Esparza of the Miami (R) Sun Sox could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2012 was good enough to win the first baseman the PBC Rookie Complex League Most Valuable Player Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .442 batting average this year, as well as a .486 on-base percentage. He played 87 games and racked up 150 hits, 22 doubles, 1 triple, 32 home runs, 100 RBIs and 69 runs scored.

He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 18. Chris Collins of the Atlanta (R) Pilots finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Nate Davidson of the Atlanta (R) Pilots finished third.
