Pitcher of the Year Award Presented to Boston (R) Star Monday, October 29th , 2012 It was as good as money in the bank when Dusty Weiland took the hill for Boston (R). He paid his club back with interest this season with a superb 6-1 mark, collecting the PBC Rookie Complex League Pitcher of the Year Award for 2012. The Shamrocks star delighted the hometown fans with a fine 2.11 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 98 innings. Weiland surrendered 78 hits and 24 walks and limited opposing batters to a .215 batting average. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 18. Nathaniel Smith of the Washington (R) Warriors finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Thomas Bonsack of the Detroit (R) Motors finished third with 2 first place votes.
