R Hands Out Reliever of the Year Award Friday, October 26th , 2012 At the young age of only 19, Sam Griffin has been named the PBC Rookie Complex League Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2012. The future appears bright for the Philadelphia (R) Keystones relief ace, who captured the award with 7 saves in 32 relief appearances, 67 strikeouts in 49.2 innings and a record of 4-1 to go with his 1.09 ERA. He received 18 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Dave Jimenez of the Los Angeles (R) Knights finished second in voting, while Travis Funk of the Washington (R) Warriors finished third.
