Jorge Esparza is September's #1 Hitter in R Monday, October 1st , 2012 Jorge Esparza made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the PBC Rookie Complex League this past month. The Miami (R) Sun Sox first baseman shined through the month of September and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 22-year-old hit .383 with 11 home runs, 27 RBIs and 21 runs scored. Thus far this season, Esparza is hitting .442 with 32 home runs, 100 RBIs and 69 runs scored. He has 150 hits in 339 at-bats and has played in 87 games. |
